Chapter One

Goblin raiders have attacked the surrounding villages, capturing many from villages around the area. The latest raid took sixteen, some of whom were your relatives. Desperate to get your family members back, you banded together to form a hunting party to hunt down the goblins and rescue them.

You've tracked the goblins to the old haunted keep of the Rodemus family, a noble family overthrown by a peasant revolt. No one speaks of that time, and there were only rumors of a great evil infecting the noble family that had to be put down.

You stand within the entry of what is left of the old Keep of Rodemus, two doors lead out of the entry hall. The left door has a faded sign that says Armory and Barracks, the sign on the right door has long since faded away.

You cautiously move forward...

This module is for 1st or 2nd level characters and is about 3-4 hours long and will get them to around 4th level. It is the precursor to the Assault on the Slave Lords module.

Haunted Keep of the Slavers is based on the old Haunted Keep sample module in the original Erol Otis drawing Basic D&D handbook of 1st edition also known as the Red Book.

Award-line
It is strongly recommended you play Classic Tabletop adventures with 'Deadlier AI' enabled in your game options. The default setting for AI greatly reduces the monster use of abilities, limiting the encounter challenge. Encounter balance will be at its best for a points-buy party on Authentic with Deadlier AI.
